Artist Statement

My main focus in art is to continuously explore the use of colors and how they can convey different moods and effects. I am drawn to things that are often overlooked such as mushrooms, leaves, and bugs. This focus gives them a chance to be appreciated and examined in detail. I explore these themes prominently through oil paint, a medium that has the ability to produce rich colors and showcase emotions in a way that I feel resonates with me. Through color I capture the whimsicality of everyday life which is something we can sometimes fail to notice or give much value.
